Rare applause in the Commons as MP calls Johnson to quit

Conservative MP Gary Sambrook wins spontaneous applause during Prime Minister’s Questions when he calls on Boris Johnson to “take responsibility and resign.”

He called the Prime Minister out for blaming other MPs at the event at the Carlton Club event, saying that they should have stopped Chris Pincher from drinking too much.

Elected in 2019, Mr Sambrook is a member of the influential backbench 1922 committee.
