'My doors blew clean off': Living in the centre of the Beirut blast

The explosion in Beirut was felt more than 100 miles away and flattened buildings in a two-mile radius, displacing hundreds of thousands of people.

Our Middle East news editor Zein Ja’far lives in the area and his flat was badly damaged in the blast.
